Payment
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, personal checks, money orders, wire transfers and cashiers checks. Your payment must accompany your order. Any items ordered by phone, and not paid for by credit card, will be held for five (5) days until your check or money order arrives.
If payment is not received within five business days, the item will be returned to inventory. If payment is made by personal check, the item will be held until the check clears our bank. To avoid this delay, you may choose a different form of payment.
Sorry, no C.O.D. orders. New Mexico residents please add 7.9375% sales tax. Payment of other state’s sales tax is the responsibility of the buyer.
Requirements for Purchasing a Firearm
Note: The following requirements do NOT apply to antique firearms. Antique firearms are those that were manufactured prior to 1898.
Modern firearms can only be shipped to holders of a Federal Firearms License (FFL). If you are not a license holder, you can arrange for a transfer through a local dealer in your area. Most transfer dealers will charge a fee for this service. There are a number of sources for FFL dealers, including gun stores, pawn shops, shooting ranges, gun smiths, etc. We do not ship firearms to non-FFL holders, per federal law.
Your local FFL dealer must send us a signed copy of their license, either by fax or mail, which we will then verify through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Please make sure that your dealer puts your name on the license so that we can apply it to your specific order. If you have questions about the laws in your area, please refer to your local dealer, your appropriate state agency, or the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (www.atf.gov).
All sales are made with the buyer’s full acceptance of the stated terms of sale. All transactions shall be deemed to occur in New Mexico regardless whether by telephone, mail, internet, or the physical location of the buyer, subject only to federal and state laws of New Mexico. Any disputes will be settled in a New Mexico court of law.
All firearms are sold as collector items only, are intended for non-operational use, and should be checked and certified by a licensed gunsmith if to be used for anything other than non-operational purposes. No liability is assumed for the use of any item sold.
Shipping
All items are professionally prepared for shipment and insured. Items are shipped within three days after receipt of BOTH payment and the signed FFL. Items are usually shipped via UPS. Shipping is calculated on each order and expedited shipping is available for an additional fee. We will contact you with a shipping quote upon receipt of your order. NOTE: Federal law requires that all handgun sales are shipped via overnight delivery, which will result in an additional shipping fee. We do not ship to P.O. Boxes, and there are no refunds on shipping charges.
Return Policy
We extend return privileges on what we sell. Every attempt has been made to accurately describe each item; noting defects, if any. If you are not happy with what you receive, you may return it, prepaid, within three (3) days of receipt by you OR you dealer, in the same condition as sent. We will refund the purchase price of the item only; there are no refunds on shipping costs.
Lay-Away
We are ready to assist you should payment terms be necessary. Please call to discuss terms.
Errors
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information on this website is accurate. Sherwoods cannot be held liable for typographical errors.
International Orders
International orders will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. We will endeavor to assist you in facilitating the shipment to your country at an additional cost. Please contact us with questions.
Trades
We will consider items for trade; however we prefer to do this in person as it is extremely difficult to determine the value of an item we have not physically inspected. Upon prior agreement, you may ship your trade item to us for evaluation, at your cost. If a successful trade does not result, the cost of returning the item to you is also your responsibility.
